Here we present the different projekts ECCO offers. If you need to do something different or need a gab year you could work with us in Svelgen. Within this you have space for creativity and you have a impact in our society and in the wellbeing of the enviroment.
Stories alife
Stories alive is a creativ project where we use our cameras to show what others don't see. Our passion is it to make ECCO's work visible for everybody.
Internship
Exploring Cultural Campfire Opportunities (ECCO) offers internship opportunities for students and young people who want to gain practical experience in child & youth work, community activities, and international cooperation.
The volunteers work in BUA or is to ensure the daily operations in BUA are done, but also to think how the BUA concept can reach further through social media or activities.
For future volunteers
As ECCO volunteers, we have a structured and planned week with approximately 30 hours of work, but this can vary depending on tasks and other projects. Flexibility is key. The work varies depending on the area, but there's always something to do, and as volunteers, we work independently but sometimes as a team.
Our week plan
monday
Mondays are planing days and cleaning days. We tak care of our office and our equipmet to crate a nice enviroment to work through out the week. After that the whole ecco team meets up to talk about tasks, projects, expiriences and thoughts. We also talk about the programm for the open house and social work.
tuesday
Tuesdays are work day. Depending on your projekt you work in the bibliothek, in Bua, or you have time to work on your own projekt and in media work u have home office every second witch can be used to work on own projects or plan ideas with others.
If you aren`t working in mediawork you will get an own working plan.
wednesday
Degree University Name
Wednesday is language day. The workingday starts at around 12:30. The volunteers meet up in the hotel here we work for one hour with different tasks, mostly cleaning the gym and the kids area but in return we get free gym usage and somtimes free acsess to events. After that we move to the bibliothek to have the languauge caffee from 13:30 till 14:30 and treffpunkt from 17:00 to 18:00 where we learn norwegian bokmal. In between is wourking time .
THURSDAY
Thursday is a social work day. work starts at 14:00 and lasts until 17:30. After that we start the Open house, whitch is a meet up of young people to play many different games and have a good time together. We offer drinks and sometimes something to eat like self made pizza. We end at around 20:30 afterwords we clean up and go home.
FRIDAY
On Friday all volunteers are home, witch doesnt mean that we are not working. At 10:00 we have the house meeting where just the volunteers talk about the house situation and devide the cleaning tasks in the house. Cleaning the house is done after the house meeting. When its done we are off until the evening where we have again social work for around 2 to 3 hours, beginning at 18:00.
SATURDAY
Of course we all need time to rest but also some others outside of our organisation might need heling hands. The first saturday of the moth is held free for different kinds of work. This can be beach cleaning, litter collecting in the village or garden work around our office.
