Svelgen is a very small, remote village. With  around 1.200 inhabitants is Svelgen the bigest villlage in the area. The village is located at the Frøysjøen wich is on the south side of the Nordfjord. The nature around is simular to the lofoten and offers a big range of activitys:  kanuing on the fjord or hiking the highest kliff in europe.

The work schedule is typically 30-35 hours per week. Depending on the projects

you're involved in, your hours may vary. Normally, work takes place between 10:00 and 17:00.

You will have two days off each week (not including weekends at the climbing park),

which can be stacked to create a longer break, such as a 4-day weekend.

Additionally, you will receive two vacation days per month.

​

As a Volunteer you dont have to worry about accomodation - you will get an own room in a house wich will be shared by all the volunteers. That means you will spend much time together with cooking or just hanging around in the Living room.

From the House its a 5 minutes drive to the center of svelgen where you find all our working facilities along with the Gym and the store. 

In the House you find all you need spredet on two flooors. On the main floor you find the entrence,  kitchen, living room wich has a separate eating area along with big Panorama windows. There are also 2 Single and one double bedroom. Down Stairs you find another bathroom, 2 Single bedrooms, 1 double bedroom, one bathroom, 1 laundryroom and 2 storage rooms.

Norway is not an full member EU but of the european free trade association. Wich means you can visit norway as an volunteer of the europen solidarity coore but you can`t pay with the euro in Norway.

Here you pay with the norwegian krone(NOK) but dont worry you dont need to change money in norway its possible to pay by card everywhere.
